If you buy a home in Mission Hills, you'll come to know why this quiet neighborhood is one of the most sought after areas to live in San Diego. We love Mission Hills for its quaint craftsman bungalows, stately Spanish-style mansions, and the growing shopping and restaurant scene.  I've listed a few of my favorite places below.
Mission Hills is one of San Diego's oldest neighborhoods overlooking Old Town and the San Diego Bay. Many homes were built in the early 1900s and have been lovingly preserved.  Mission Hills is a great walking neighborhood. You can take a relaxing walk to small shops and restaurants or one of the several parks in the neighborhood. We like Presidio Park which offers 40 acres of green space, picnic areas and some outstanding views of the San Diego River Valley and the Pacific Ocean. This is also where you'll find one of Mission Hills treasures, the iconic Junipero Serra Museum chronicling the history of San Diego and a beautiful place for events or weddings.
The Mission Hills culinary scene is gaining a lot of attention. Chic cafes and boutiques are tucked away in small business pockets throughout the neighborhood. We like Farmer's Bottega for its rustic farm-to-table cuisine. Another fantastic restaurant is Fort Oak which features seafood dishes prepared in a wood-fired oven. Make it a date night with dinner and a movie by heading to Cinema Under the Stars, an outdoor movie theater featuring classics as well as new release movies.
Mission Hills is located just south of the San Diego River valley and north of downtown San Diego. Mission Hills overlooks Old Town, Downtown San Diego, and San Diego Bay. The San Diego International Airport is literally in Mission Hills' front yard. It takes about 10 minutes to get there. Mission Hills is only 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. A good spot to watch the sunset is at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, which is west about 15 minutes. In under a half-hour, you can head up the coast to visit the laid back beach town of Del Mar, CA. The famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World are both just minutes away from Mission Hills.
